We are recruiting for an Apprentice Library Assistant who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
We are delighted to welcome applications for our Apprentice Library Assistant position. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive and enthusiastic individual to join our team to provide high-quality knowledge and library services for all East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust staff, students, and stakeholders.
This is a full-time role based on the Lister Hospital site and will give you an excellent start to your professional librarianship career. You will be given one paid study day per week in a fully funded, 18 months apprenticeship course to gain a level 3 qualification in library, information and archive services which aligns with professional recognition of Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals (CILIP).

You will work as an integral member of the Knowledge and Library Services team whilst completing your Library, Information and Archive Services Assistant Level 3 Apprenticeship.
Your duties and responsibilities will be supported through on the job training and supervision, participation at relevant internal/external training sessions provided by the Trust and your Training provider and workplace assessments.
Welcoming and supporting library users to use facilities, resources and services to meet their needs and provide general library inductions and orientation.
Managing membership registrations on the Library Management System (LMS), circulations maintaining records, accessing online services, journals and eBooks.
Processing new items by adding them on the LMS, labelling and adding security tags, shelving books and maintaining stocks of library stationery and publicity materials.
