Devonport:
The Finance Apprenticeship is based at Devonport Royal Dockyard in Plymouth.

Comprising of 14 dry docks, four miles of waterfront and 25 tidal berths,
Devonport is the base for numerous surface vessels as well as the base and refit centre for the Trafalgar-class nuclear-powered submarines. Devonport has also recently been selected as the base port for the Navy’s new Type 26 frigates and will become the maintenance centre for the future submarine programme.

Finance Apprenticeship:
Our Finance Apprenticeship programme gives you lots of responsibility, the chance to progress, and from day one you will be assigned a mentor that understands your business area and who will support you through your development programme. You will be given the opportunity to work on interesting projects, meet key stakeholders in the business, and deliver real outputs that will make a difference.
Throughout the course of your apprenticeship, you will gain exposure to new environments which will challenge, build, and develop new skills, kickstarting your career into business finance.

Possible placements:
Apprentices will spend their time onsite at Devonport and will attend virtual training sessions as well as onsite visits from the training provider to assess your progress.
Placements will include opportunities to work within Submarines, Warships, Naval Bases, the Central teams which includes Contract Management/IT projects, offering variety and insight into Babcock.
Tasks will include Project & Overhead Accounting support, analysing the data using Excel features, managing billing and being a key member of the Finance function.
Qualifications you’ll gain:
As you work through your apprenticeship you will have the ability gain varying levels of AAT qualifications (depending on your starting point).
What you’ll need:
A minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade 4/C or above, including maths and English and 3 A-Levels grades A-C.
