Job description
We are looking for an Apprentice Grounds Person to join the team on a 2-year apprenticeship.
This role will be part of the team responsible for the maintenance and general upkeep of the Arsenal Training Centre, London Colney and Emirates stadium.

Your day-to-day
Undertake a 2 year apprenticeship program to gain their Level 2 Sportsturf Operative Standard Apprenticeship qualification.
Working toward and contributing to:
(Training to be provided)
- Maintenance of the amenity landscapes
- Tractor and trailer work when carrying out jobs
- Wide use of machinery in renovation of grass areas - use of turf cutters, edgers, scarification, seeding, stone buriers and seeders.
- Grass cutting and strimming around ball stopping nets.
- Pedestrian and ride on mowing of football pitches and surrounds.
- Watering plants and other associated areas with handheld equipment.
- Assisting in the renovation of pitches using equipment associated with this process e.g. tractor and trailer work, sand spreading.
- Matchday Set up and pitch testing.
- Helping out with deliveries, manual handling of bags of sand, sand soil, fertilizer bags and seed bags ranging from 20-25kg.
- Cleaning equipment stores and associated washdown areas.
What we are looking for
- Willingness to complete a 2-year apprenticeship program including all aspects of academic and practical work contained within the apprenticeship program to the required standard.
- Enjoy working to a high standard and have a flexible attitude, especially in terms of the unsocial hours that might be necessary.
- Good time keeping skills.
- Ability to receive instruction and act upon instructions given.
- A passion or empathy with sport/sports entertainment.
- Full UK Driving License (Desirable).
