Apprentice Gardener, Victoria Park
Tower Hamlets is committed to ensuring a safe, high quality and biodiverse environment is maintained within its 120 parks. A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen to work and learn in the award-winning Victoria Park in Tower Hamlets. The Apprentice Gardener will be provided with training in the practical and theoretical aspects of horticulture to achieve an NVQ Level 2 qualification in work-based horticulture and will gain knowledge, skills and experiences to begin a career in the horticulture or park management industry.
Under the supervision of the Tower Hamlets Head Gardener, you will work alongside our knowledgeable, skilled and experienced Victoria Park Landscape Team in a range of horticultural settings in Victoria Park. Duties will include planting and maintenance of grassed areas, flower beds, formal gardens, edible landscapes, hedges, wildlife habitats and small trees with an emphasis on biodiversity value focussed styles of landscape management. The Apprentice will learn how to use a range of tools, equipment and machinery.
The Apprentice will assist the Victoria Park Team to support community engagement, activities and events in the park.
