The Finance Apprentice is a key position reporting into the Management Accountant.

What are we looking for?

Team member seeking an apprenticeship in Finance (AAT Trainee)

What will you be doing

  • Working closely with the AR and AP personnel to help keep a clean ledger.
  • Support AR and AP with the management of accounts on the ledgers, such as credit limits, credit notes and payment terms.
  • Support with setting up of new customer/supplier accounts.
  • Chase, where necessary, overdue/Aged Debtors for around 400 accounts.
  • Help with payment runs and maintain good supplier relationships.
  • Pro-actively manage customer and colleague relationships including all queries through to resolution.
  • Collect and allocate incoming payments.
  • Communication with internal teams to ensure important payments are made.
  • Support with the reporting of ledgers to the management team.
  • Additional tasks to support wider Credit and Finance team.
  • Partner with Customer Service to manage accounts on both ledgers.
  • Adhoc reporting etc when required.

What you need to be successful

  • Exposure to excel and the manipulation of data.
  • Excellent communication, priorisation & organisational skills.
  • Confidence speaking and communicating with stakeholders.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with data entry and analysis would be advantageous.
  • Ability to problem solve and negotiate with customers/suppliers.

  • Studying towards your AAT – ideal.
