- Do you want to learn a construction craft alongside a skilled tradesperson, gaining recognised construction industry qualifications whilst delivering high-quality housing maintenance services to Ipswich Borough Council’s tenanted properties?
Working in people’s homes requires a clean and tidy approach to the task and maintaining good health and safety. The role also demands effective teamwork, alongside maintaining good communication appropriate to the needs of the customer. You will assist in a range of duties to repair or renew fittings to maintain our housing to a high standard. This role is 37 hours per week: Monday to Friday, and involves early starts, from Gipping House, on Whittle Road.
You will have 5 GCSEs at Grade C/4 including Mathematics and English Language and be excited to have the opportunity to undertake further studies to enable you to achieve a recognised Apprenticeship qualification. Consideration will also be given to applicants still in education with a start date of early Summer 2023.
You must be able to follow detailed instructions, always work to the best of your ability; be well organised with good time keeping attending appointments promptly. In addition, you will need to adopt a methodical approach to your duties which will range from updating records to tidying up before leaving site.
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate effective communication skills and an understanding of customer care.
The duration of your Apprenticeship will depend on the trade it is linked to; this will be discussed during the selection process. You will be expected to attend College and on-site assessment will be required.
