About the role….

You will commence on apprenticeship rate of £11,446 per annum, and your rate of pay will increase annually in line with the craft apprenticeship rate. The Electrician apprenticeship is a 4-year programme.

You will be working as an apprentice Electrician assisting in the design, development, manufacture, construction, commissioning, operation of electrical works. You may also assist or undertake electrical works in relation to maintaining products, equipment, processes, systems to a wide range property type within the Council’s property portfolio and as required in line with business need.


You will work with colleagues across Gateshead to apply the practical skills you will develop from attending college.


We want our Apprentice Electricians to develop core electrical skills to succeed. You will support the service ‘one front door approach’, you will gain knowledge to enable you to be proactive in all aspects of health and safety, and the skills to work collaboratively with the team to deliver positive outcomes for our customers.


The apprenticeship you allow you to gain skills, knowledge, and experience in all aspects of Electrical work required to attend college to gain the necessary qualifications. You must also be willing to actively obtain a full driving license.
