Job description
We are looking to recruit a hands-on Apprentice in Electrical engineering to work in an industrial environment producing food manufacturing equipment. This is a factory-based role but may require occasional travel to remote manufacturing sites.
One day release at college studying Electrical engineering NVQ levels 1 to 3
School qualification gained.
English grade 4
Maths Grade 4
ICT grade 4
Responsibilities / Training
· Building Control panels to technical drawings, including cutting and fitting of wire ducting and din rail.
· Wiring Control panels to electrical schematic drawings.
· Testing Control panels to relevant documentation.
· Fault finding Control panels.
· Working with low voltage single & three phase AC systems, ranging from 110V – 600V.
· Working with extra low voltage DC systems, typically 24V.
· Working alongside the mechanical department to field wire the control system within the machine envelope.
· Helping with Electrical maintenance in and around the factory.
Additional knowledge/experience that would be beneficial to the candidate.
· A good interest / Hobby in Electrical
· Works well as an individual and effectively within a group.
Additional Details
You would be contracted to work 39 hours per week, Monday – Friday with a 10-minute break 10.00am - 10.10am, and ½ hour lunch break 1.00pm - 1.30pm.
Working Hours:
Monday 7.30am - 1.00 pm / 1.30pm - 4.00pm
Tuesday 7.30am - 1.00 pm / 1.30pm - 4.30pm
Wednesday/Thursday 7.30am - 1.00 pm / 1.30pm - 5.00pm
Friday 7.30am - 12 noon (unless working overtime).
Overtime is generally available and paid at 1.5 times the hourly rate Monday to Friday and Saturday mornings. It is expected that a reasonable amount of overtime can be worked as requested by Supervisor or Manager.
Subsidised drinks and snacks are available from vending machines.
Your rate of pay is dependent on experience.
