For this vacancy you'll undertake a Electrical apprenticeship qualification, which will include Installing, maintaining and repairing electrical systems in industrial, commercial or domestic environments as part of your employment. You should enjoy problem solving and getting practical, hands on experience
You should be committed to learning and completing studies in your chosen pathway
You will have Maths and English Level 4-9 or equivalent/ Scottish National 5 certificates grade A to C and you should be able to provide certificates at interview

Job objectives and responsibilities
- To carry out duties in compliance with Mitie Technical Facilities Management Ltd Policies and Procedures.
- To ensure all activities are undertaken safely and in compliance with Health and Safety policy/legislation.
- To undertake tasks in a professional manner assuring the highest standard of workmanship.
- To adhere to and promote Mitie's values and behaviours.
- Take responsiblility for delivery of the highest levels of customer service.
Understand the business / contract objectives and work towards achieving these goals
Main duties
- Work with engineers to develop electrical skills, working methods and knowledge throughout the contract life
- Assist Engineers in completion of routine PPM tasks, Reactive tasks and minor works
- Learn and understand the requirement of permits, risk assessments and method statements.
- Understand the importance of record keeping and ensuring all records and log books are maintained and accurate
- Assist in small mechanical, plumbing and fabric tasks
- Ensure that all company issued equipment is kept in excellent condition (Tools, PPE, Equipment)
- Understand the requirement to adhere to clients operational procedures.
- Familiarise youirself with other departments and their procedures
- Learn and understand the company's systems (Maximo, People Support, Learning Hub, Mitie Intranet)
- Provide information and reports on educational attendance as requested.
- Understand the requirement to escalate any issues to the line manager to provide early warning of defects
- Support and assist other team members when requested
- Identify a minimum of 1 site hazard per month taking remedial action to resolve, report this to your line manager
- Attend site meetings and training when required.
- Complete E Learning courses as required or requested by your line manager
- Understand the procedure for quotes for materials and equipment to carry out repair works.
- Any other reasonable requests from the Supervisor / Line Manager
Person Specification
- GCSE English and Maths grade C and above (grade 4) or functional skills level 2
- Punctual and excellent attendance is necessary
- Willing to learn at college and in the workplace
- PC literate (Outlook/Word/Excel)
- Strong analytical skills
- Attention to detail
- Problem-solving skills
- Communication skill
Health and Safety responsibilities
- Follow Group and company policies and procedures at all times;
- Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment;
- Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received;
- Report any issues or training needs to your Line manager and /or via your divisional incident reporting system;
Information Security
- Ensure compliance with Mitie's information security procedures in all activities;
- Proactively identify and report security risks to your manager;
- Report actual and suspected security incidents;
