A great opportunity has arisen and we are looking for a Full Time Apprentice Dental Nurse. Someone who wants a long term career in Dental Nursing and who is reliable and competent. You will need to take pride in your job role and be enthusiastic to join our well established experienced and friendly team. We are a mixed practice, but predominantly private, with a strong professional teamwork ethic.
Our ideal candidate is someone who has the dedication, drive and ambition to succeed and has a hunger to progress, while studying for the qualification. You will need to understand the responsibility and commitment to the role that working in the Dental Health Industry requires. As a trainee dental nurse you will be required to undertake an accredited Dental Nurse Training Course to achieve a Level 3 in dental nursing, making you eligible for GDC Registration. This is a commitment that you need to understand and prepare for, the course which will last for 21 months. Ongoing CPD is mandatory for all qualified dental nurses. The applicant should be confident in presenting themselves, reliable, have excellent communication skills, competent and able to liaise and speak confidently with patients and have a willingness to go the extra mile to ensure all our patients are given a 5-star service that we pride ourselves in doing. Meeting deadlines, being conscientious, forward thinking and working with targets, the environment is busy, a team player is an essential part of the role. The ability to use your own initiative, ensuring that our protocols, policies, and practice standards are complied with daily. Previous customer service industry experience would be useful but not essential, full training for the right candidate will be provided.
Dental Nurses are required to assist chairside during all general dental procedures and specialist cosmetic, restorative and implant procedures with the clinician. Responsible for the daily cross-infection control & decontamination duties following our strict COVID-19/CQC protocols and policies. Your role will also involve reception/telephone duties and handling patient payments. In-House training and mentoring support are provided. Enhanced DBS and Identity checks are mandatory.
Please understand that your role is predominantly chairside as a Dental Nurse assisting the Clinician/Hygienist, but this role will also involve some reception duties/tasks according to the needs of the business. You will be required to confidently man the reception desk at times, sometimes on your own during busy periods if the need arises. Well spoken with a good level of English is essential for answering telephone calls/taking payments/recording confidential data/computer skills. Ability to communicate in other languages may be useful, but is not essential. Excellent customer service skills will be required.
Working hours are Monday to Friday – 08.30 - 17.30. Alternate Saturdays (non negotiable). 9.00 -14.00 this is worked on a rota, so may be less, Saturdays worked are additional to your salaried pay.

The ideal candidate:
- Will be seeking the desire to be a dedicated and trained Dental Nurse
- Enrolling on an NEBDN or similar recognised dental nurse course (this is a mandatory requirement for the role)
- Will require to be Hepatitis B vaccinated (mandatory)
- Covid-19 Vaccination / Booster / Certification is required
- Understand the role and the responsibility that comes with this important and vital chairside role
- Have a good/satisfactory previous employment attendance record
- Be reliable, have a warm professional and friendly personality
- Good working attitude within the dental team and equally the ability to work unsupervised using own initiative
- Be proactive and productive
- Be flexible in working schedules
- Demonstrate great interpersonal skills and have excellent communication skills

Trainee salary is competitive upon completion of probation and training.
