Overview of Vacancy
The broad purpose of the occupation is to ascertain how data can be used in order to answer questions and solve problems. Data analysis is a process of requirement-gathering, inspecting, cleansing, transforming and modelling data with the goal of discovering useful information, informing conclusions and supporting decision-making.
Data analysts may work in various departments within a single employer, (for example finance, sales, HR, manufacturing, or marketing), and in any employment sector, public or private, including retail, distribution, defence, banking, logistics, media, local government etc.
Job Description
In their daily work, an employee in this occupation interacts with internal or external clients. Internally, the data analyst may work with many people within their organisation, at different levels. Externally a data analyst may provide data analysis services to other organisations on behalf of their employer. Typical duties may include:
· Identifying data sources
· Communication both internally and externally to establish reporting needs
· Collecting and compiling data, and resolving any issues that arise form it
· Producing reports for internal and external use
· Maintaining and developing reports through lifecycle
· Identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns in data sets
· Working in accordance to relevant legislation (GDPR)
Typical Working Week
You will work on site for four days per week and attend college for one day a week.
Apprentice Training
Evidence of prior learning in the form of certificates may exempt you from some elements of the training. You will work on site for four days per week and attend college for one day a week, unless stated otherwise. College and tuition fees are funded via the ESFA and K10. You must attend all college days to complete your apprenticeship qualification.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
Applicants need to have at least an Level 1 in Functional Skills or GCSE grade C/4 or above in English and Maths.
Desired Requirements
The passion and commitment of an individual who wishes to work within a Data analysis and management that produces visual reports that allow business decisions to be made. Working well within a team and independently in also desirable.
CSCS
K10 can facilitate CSCS testing if candidates pass initial recruitment sessions and interview. However, if the candidate already holds a CSCS then this will be seen as an advantage and speed up their placement.
Timeframe
It is likely to take 24 months to complete this apprenticeship, depending on current qualifications and experience.
Casual Drug Use
K10 test for illicit drugs with all candidates prior to placement, due to spot check drug testing tasking place on site/at the airport.
