By joining ABP as an Apprentice Butcher, you will be joining the biggest community of Beef processors in the UK. ABP is one of the largest employers in Shropshire, with the site in Shrewsbury being acquired in 1989. However, do not be fooled into thinking it is old and dated, it has recently had millions of pounds invested in upgrading, to secure its future for years to come.
Our apprenticeship scheme lies at the heart of our business. Many of our leaders began their careers as apprentices and attribute their success to the skills they developed during their time on the programme.

Working Monday to Friday, initially from 8am but gradually moving towards 6:30am, you will undertake practical and theory based learnings.
Working fours days per week on practical skills, learning cuts and specifications whilst training to process products to the required standard. You will then spend one day per week onsite learning theory aspects of anatomy, food science and developing functional skills.

You do not need any qualifications or experience for this role because at ABP Shrewsbury, you will be working alongside, and trained by industry professionals.
