Bristol Panel Formers Ltd is one of the leading independent manufacturers of Cubicles and Washroom Systems in the country. Our product range also covers the manufacturing of anti-ligature systems, lockers, and a wide variety of laminated based products. Based in Bristol we supply clients all over the UK.
The Role
We are looking for an Apprentice 3D CAD Designer to join our focused and friendly team. The successful applicant will have a professional approach and will be trained in managing the design through to production of complete projects from start to finish, taking pride in every detail and delighting the client. We place a strong focus on our clients, the integrity of their designs, and the fit and detailed finish of our products. This is a full-time permanent role offering training and progression.
- 1. Coordinate projects through all stages (design, optimisation, and production).
- 2. Hands on design work.
- 3. Conversion from 3D Autodesk Inventor to our optimisation programme & CNC Maestro package.
Role Responsibilities:
- Produce 3D Cad drawings to meet the clients requested project brief, in-line with the approved sales order and subsequently gain client approval.
- Create design schemes that explore, suggest opportunities, and answer the client’s expectations – presented as detailed 3D CAD drawings - plans and elevations.
- Take off from drawing approval to produce cutting lists on our in-house optimisation programme ready for the workshop.
Desired Skills & Requirements:
- Some 3D CAD Software experience in the role is necessary (or degree experience), which could include AutoCAD 3D, Rhino, Solid Works, Fusion 360 and ideally Autodesk Inventor. Full training will be given on the use of Autodesk Inventor and also about the nature of the products sold.
- You will help to convert new prospects into clients whilst building long-lasting relationships.
Applicants must possess strong numeracy and Windows based computer skills with the ability to carry out tasks with accuracy, speed, and attention to detail. A desire to constantly improve processes would be desirable. Working closely with other members of a small team, applicants must possess a willing and flexible attitude and be able to work under pressure in a calm, confident and organised manner.
Working week: Monday to Friday day 37.5 hours, 8.30am to 16.30pm, 30 minutes unpaid lunch break.
Remuneration: £19,000 to £22,000 per annum based upon a 37.5-hour week and depending on experience.
Holidays: 25 days plus statutory holidays pro-rata.
