LEARNING SUPPORT ASSISTANT

37.5 HOURS PER WEEK, 40 WEEKS PER YEAR
£21,078 – £21,956 PER ANNUM
About the role
We have exciting opportunities for enthusiastic and committed Learning Support Assistants to join our talented multi-disciplinary College team. You will support our learners aged 19 - 25 with development opportunities that not only extends their academic skills and abilities, but also promotes personal growth and independence in all aspects of learning, leisure and life. This rewarding opportunity will see you contribute to the individual learning plans of young people, ensuring progress and achievements in all learning experiences and opportunities are recorded. Every day we carry out immeasurably worthwhile work that promotes high standards of welfare, self-care and independent living skills for the individuals we support.
About you
We are looking for someone with excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with patience and understanding to work with learners in a manner which gives them maximum choice and independence. You will have previous experience working with learners with learning disabilities, ideally within a classroom setting. We do ask that you have good literacy and numeracy skills to at least Level 2 (or equivalent) in GCSE Maths & English. A relevant qualification is essential for our Level 2 Learning Support Assistant position e.g. RQF/NVQ Level 2 in Teaching/Learning.
