Contract: Temporary for one year in the first instance, Part Time
Start Date: September 2023
We are seeking to appoint a conscientious, enthusiastic Teaching Support Assistant with Special Educational Needs experience. This person needs be motivated and committed in supporting a child with complex additional needs on a 1:1 basis, to help remove barriers to learning, in order to promote effective participation, enhance individual learning and raise aspirations.
Part of the role will require the applicant to support the children with intimate care and medical conditions. Experience of working with and supporting children with an Education Healthcare Care Plan in an infant school setting is desirable. Your hours will include a lunch duty to work with children with Special Educational Needs.
Requirement for the successful candidate will:
- Have GCSE or equivalent in mathematics and English
- Be Level 3 qualification in childcare or equivalent
- Demonstrate the ability to liaise closely with the class teacher, parents and other professionals.
- Use their initiative to work independently and flexibly
- Have a proven ability to support, develop and motivate pupils
- Have a record of good attendance
- Good communication skills
- Be patience and understanding
- Have the ability to react clearly and quickly to children’s needs.
