Job description
We have an excellent career opportunity for an Applications Specialist in our Life Sciences Mass Spectrometry Division supporting our customers, sales and service teams across the UK and Ireland. The role has arisen due to continued success in business growth and product development. The key focus of the role is growing our mass spectrometry market in the UK and Ireland through support of the local sales team, application support and customer training, and demonstration of our mass spectrometers to customers. Experience is required in the fields of Proteomics, MALDI Imaging, Lipidomics or Metabolomics.
- Technical support of our customers to enable them to fully exploit the capabilities of their instrument investments and application support of the service group in case of escalated customer service events.
- Providing high level customer trainings and ongoing continuous support to ensure customer success.
- Active participation in conferences and exhibitions, including booth duty and support of Bruker user meetings and customer focused seminars.
- Demonstration support of Bruker’s mass spectrometry solutions in Bruker laboratory or at customer sites in the UK.
- Processing of sample evaluations for customers and generation of result reports. Presentation of the results to the customers, either onsite or by web discussions.
- Support of sales opportunities by joining the Bruker UK sales force during customer visits and online webinars for discussions about Bruker’s mass spectrometry solutions.
- Working with line manager to understand the scientific project needs and business requirements of the customer.
- Background as chemist, biologist with a focus on either analytical chemistry, proteomics, metabolomics, lipidomics, MALDI, MALDI imaging.
- Practical experience in using mass spectrometry technology with proven proficiency in chromatographic separations.
- A thorough understanding of the role of mass spectrometry, in particular LC/MS, as well as of its challenges in the area of chemical analysis. Experience of MALDI MS applications and development is an advantage.
