JOB TITLE: Cash Application Specialist, Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) - Lakewood Office
COMPENSATION: $19.25 - $20.25

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Responsible for payment posting and cash balancing of daily deposits and month-end reconciliation. Collaborate and support the Revenue Cycle (RCM) team by maintaining accurate and timely reconciliation of cash receipts.
- Paper and electronic payment posting to include deposit balancing.
- Retrieve and post lockbox contents.
- Retrieve and post remittances from payor websites when the remittance is not available.
- 3-way balancing with cash logs, bank activity, and posted payments.
- Research unidentified payments and or recoupment to determine the appropriate resolution.
- Scan documentation to appropriate location in the billing system.
- Ensure all monies are posted and balanced for month-end close.
- Unapplied credit management.
- Post refund checks issued by accounting for overpayments.
- Identify patterns and trends that indicate a potential issue.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Minimum 1-2 years of related prior work experience required, preferably in the healthcare industry.
- Proven competencies can take precedence over prior work experience.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Proficient (intermediate level of application) with all Microsoft Office Products programs.
- Experience in performing tasks that require a basic understanding of accounting and math skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Must possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, be able to communicate professionally and effectively with other staff members and patients and is fluent in written and spoken English.
- Knowledge of insurance, accounting, medical billing, HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, medical abbreviations, and terminology preferred.
