Job Description
As an Application Manager you will ensure the company's databases and applications' smooth operation, maintenance, and security. Work closely with other IT professionals to design, implement, and maintain complex database and application systems, ensuring they are reliable, scalable, and efficient. You will also manage upgrades, patches, and other software updates to ensure the systems are up-to-date and secure. Additionally, you will have direct reports and manage a team of application developers.
Essential Functions
- Design, implement, and maintain complex database and application systems.
- Ensure the company's databases and applications' reliability, scalability, and efficiency.
- Monitor and optimize the performance of the databases and applications to ensure that they meet the needs of the business.
- Manage backups, disaster recovery, and other data protection strategies to ensure the integrity of the company's data.
- Manage software updates, patches, and other upgrades to ensure the systems are up-to-date and secure.
- Collaborate with other IT professionals to ensure the company's technology systems are integrated and work seamlessly.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the company's databases and applications.
- Create and maintain documentation related to the company's databases and applications.
- Train and support end-users on the company's databases and applications.
- Manage a team of database administrators and application developers, providing mentorship and guidance to ensure they meet their goals and objectives.
- Ensure that the team works collaboratively and efficiently and that all projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Provide regular performance feedback and evaluations to team members, identifying improvement areas and helping them develop professionally.
- Develop and maintain training programs for the team, ensuring they are up-to-date with the latest technologies and best practices.
- Manage team resources, including hardware, software, and other equipment, to ensure they adequately support the team's work.
Other Duties

- Maintenance and documentation of projects and changes
- Creation of documentation and reports on project stages, progress, and presentation to the control/interested group.

Competencies
- Strong knowledge of database management systems such as MySQL, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, or PostgreSQL.
- Strong knowledge of programming languages such as Java, Python, or Ruby.
- Experience with application development frameworks such as .NET or Java EE.
- Experience with database and application performance tuning and optimization.
- Experience with backup and disaster recovery strategies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Required education and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in database administration, application development, or a related field.
- 5+ years’ experience in ERP systems (NAV, AX, Oracle, SAP, D365BC, etc.).
- Experience managing a team of database administrators and application developers.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Manage a team of Database Administrators and Application Developers as their direct report.

The Application Manager/Database Administrator will work in an office environment (On-Site), with the possibility of occasional travel to remote sites. The job may require working outside of regular business hours to ensure the smooth operation of the company's systems. The job may require occasional on-call work to respond to system outages or other emergencies.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $95,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
