Applications Engineer – Zeeland, Michigan
DISHER is currently partnering with a local manufacturing technology company that improves the way plastic products are made. They provide plastic assembly technology, custom automation, and engineering services. We are seeking an Applications Engineer to join their team in Zeeland, Michigan. In this role, you will review and assess customer projects and provide recommendations regarding feasibility, best methods, potential issues, and process options. You will also support internal and external sales efforts by providing plastics joining expertise, consultation, problem solving, testing, evaluation, and analysis.

What you will get to do:
- Assist customers by providing on-site training, product presentations, process development, and process improvement support
- Develop customer part features that optimize part joining/assembly performance
- Develop and maintain a working knowledge of other plastic joining processes outside of what the company offers
- Determine steps required to manufacture parts or assemblies to customer specifications
- Evaluate new materials, equipment, and processes
- Conduct process development experiments to determine process limits and new process possibilities
- Conduct experiments and lab tests to support innovation and development
What will make you successful:
- 3+ years experience in the manufacturing industry
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or similar
- A history of working in a customer-facing role
- Strong experience in hands-on process development
- Ability to effectively interact with several internal and external stakeholders effectively
- Experience with machine automation and plastics preferred
- Must have the current and continuing right to work in the United States of America without restrictions or expirations
