Job description
Key Responsibilities:
- As an Applications Programmer, your role will be to maintain and support existing software solutions which our clients have adopted and to implement/install new ones. This includes integrating newly implemented systems with other software on-premises or in the cloud.
- At the simplest level, you may act as a technical liaison with a cloud vendor, and at the more complex level, you will need to implement customized integrations requiring an understanding of relational databases, application stacks, testing methodologies, production support, and the development lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation related to application development, testing, and deployment.
- Ensure that software applications adhere to industry standards, security protocols, and best practices.

- Salary Range for this position is expected to be: Minimum $85,000- Maximum $95,000
- Bachelor’s degree
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Familiarity with object-oriented programming languages like Java or C# .NET
- Excellent problem solving skills at the system, database and application level
- Ability to work both in a team environment and independently
- The people skills required to work with our non-technical clients and the rest of the IT team
- Ability to thoroughly document technical processes in a timely manner
- The motivation to learn and constantly improve processes and tools
- Relational databases, specifically Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server and familiarity with SQL, Oracle PL/SQL or Microsoft T-SQL programming
- Familiarity with college administrative systems such as Admissions, Student Records and Finance
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in application development and programming
- Proven history with the development lifecycle (design, develop, test, document, integrate and support)
- Experience supporting production code/applications using technologies such as HTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript and webservices (REST and/or SOAP)
Preferred:
- Experience with cloud-based application development, deployment and CI/CD tools
- Competent working in both Windows and Linux operating systems
- Knowledge of Tomcat, IIS and Linux
- Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm, full-time, year round (1.00 FTE)
- This is a two-year appointment with an opportunity of extension.
- Occasional evenings and weekend hours as needed.
- This is an exempt position requiring the time commitment necessary to successfully complete job requirements.
