An Application Support Analyst is required for a Fixed term Contract ending 26th March 2025 with British Transport Police (BTP) based in FHQ Camden, London.

BTP is the national police Force for the rail network throughout Great Britain, including London Underground, across which we ensure the safety and security of nearly 3 billion passenger journeys and over 100 million tons of freight every year. The world in which we work is fast paced, operationally and commercially which is demanding, and constantly changing.

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Investigate and resolve issues including performance monitoring.
  • Provide advice or training to users, by devising corrections for faults, making general or site specific modifications
  • Collaborate with the system's developers and/or with colleagues specialising in different areas, such as Database administration or Network support.

  • Extensive experience of providing applications support for one or more core business applications
  • Extensive experience of developing and managing customer relationships
  • Experience of delivering technical advice

BTP has undertaken a review of Police Staff pensions and as a result of this the Police Staff pension will be changing. The current police staff pension is a Defined Benefit scheme which is administered by the Railways Pension scheme. The new pension scheme which is launching is a Defined Contribution scheme which is administered by Royal London. The new pension scheme is awaiting formal approval and an introductory date is not finalised. The earliest this will be is June 2023.
