Here’s what you need: 2+ years’ experience in the field as an appliance repair technician (or 1+ years’ experience with equivalent technical or trade school), basic understanding of electrical, HVAC, and plumbing, a high school diploma (or equivalent), a clean driving record and background check. Our next technician should be familiar and comfortable with Electrolux, GE, Insinkerator, LG, Samsung and Whirlpool families of products and can tackle cooking, laundry, and refrigeration appliances (the wet, the hot, and the cold stuff!). The best candidates will have experience with boutique, high-end, and import brands.

Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent and one of the following:

  • 1-year experience as an appliance service technician and appliance / trade school graduate or 2+ years’ experience as an appliance service technician.
  • Competence with online, illustrated parts look-up and mobile technology.
  • Ability to compute basic arithmetic, algebra and geometry.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Maintain a class "C" driver's license in good standing.
  • Authorized to work for any employer in the United States.
  • Experience working on major brands including Electrolux, GE, Insinkerator, LG, Samsung, and Whirlpool family of products.
  • Ability to handle six or more service calls a day
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted and heavier weights with equipment or a partner's assistance.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree or Trade School Certificate in Appliance Repair, Electrical, or HVAC
  • Experience with all major household appliances (barbeques, cooking, dishwashers, food disposal, laundry, refrigeration, ventilation)
  • Experience with boutique and important brands especially: Aga, Beko, Bosch, Lynx, Sub-Zero, Thermador, True, Viking, Wolf, and others.
  • Ability to handle eight or more service calls daily.
  • Sealed system certification.
  • Multi-lingual particularly in Spanish.

Advancement Opportunities Include:

  • Candidates with no appliance experience but mechanically inclined, with good customer service skills, and internet savvy are welcome to apply as a Technician Apprentice at the beginning salary range for a 1 year paid apprenticeship.
  • Master Technicians specializing in Alameda or San Mateo county have earning potential in excess of the posted high end of the salary range.
  • Experienced Technicians with crystal clear communications have promotion opportunities into salaried a Training Lead with bonuses.
