Smart Surgical Solutions (S3) is a MedTech spinout company from Imperial College London and they are developing the next generation of surgical navigation tools. As we continue to expand our portfolio, we are seeking a talented App Developer to join our team and contribute to the development of our web and iPhone applications.
Job Description:
We are looking for a skilled and motivated App Developer who is proficient in developing both web applications and iPhone applications. As an App Developer, you will be responsible for designing, coding, testing, and debugging software applications for various platforms. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the smooth implementation of projects and deliver high-quality applications that meet client requirements. The development will be front-end to back-end, so skills with HTML and MySQL-based databases are needed. Experience with Amazon Web Services and understanding of the software life cycle is essential, and experience with ISO 13485, and IEC 62304 is an advantage.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain web applications and iPhone applications from concept to deployment.
- Collaborate with designers, product managers, and other developers to understand project requirements and translate them into functional applications.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
- Conduct thorough testing and debugging of applications to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Plan and execute comprehensive test strategies and test cases to identify and fix defects.
- Use industry-standard testing methodologies and tools to ensure the reliability and performance of applications.
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in app development and testing.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the development and testing processes.
- Collaborate with team members to continuously improve development processes and workflows.
- Conduct code reviews to maintain code quality and ensure adherence to coding standards.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in developing web applications and iPhone applications.
- Strong knowledge of programming languages such as JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, Swift, and Objective-C.
- Experience with frameworks and libraries such as React, Angular, or Vue.js for web development.
- Familiarity with iOS development frameworks and tools (e.g., Xcode, CocoaPods).
- Knowledge of RESTful APIs, JSON, and web services integration.
- Knowledge of database systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
- Understanding of UI/UX principles and the ability to create visually appealing and user-friendly interfaces.
- Proficiency in version control systems (e.g., Git) and project management tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with backend technologies such as Node.js, Ruby on Rails, or Django.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
- Previous experience in developing and maintaining responsive and mobile-friendly web applications.
- Follow the software development life cycle (SDLC) including requirements gathering, analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
