Due to growth across the compliance operations department, we are now looking for an additional Anti-Money Laundering Escalations Officer to join our AML Team.
About the role:
The AML escalations officer will support the AML Manager with AML and Due Diligence (CDD & EDD) procedures across all Business to Consumer (B2C) products.
You will provide an escalation point for complex and higher risk cases through risk assessment, completing & reviewing enhanced due diligence risk assessments, customer interactions, and review of supporting documentation, such as proof of income/source of wealth documents.

We are a team of over 170 people with our HQ based in Wigan, Greater Manchester (WN3 5AZ). The role will be 37.5 hours per week and include a varied shift pattern with some weekend work and working hours between 8am and 6pm. We offer flexible hybrid working and a full induction and training plan will be provided to anyone who joins the team.
What you’ll be doing:
- Handling complex case reviews that may arise from customer queries and complaints escalated from the CDD/AML officers
- Working closely with high risk and tier 1 customers to conduct enhanced due diligence (EDD) and ongoing monitoring
- Supporting the AML Manager with the delivery of the AML strategy and on ad-hoc projects to support the wider business
- Work with the AML Supervisor to deputise for the AML Manager when required
- Develop and maintain knowledge of the current regulatory and compliance requirements with regards to the Gambling Licensing appropriate to the jurisdictions within which the Tote operates
What you’ll need:
- Excellent working knowledge of relevant legislation and regulatory requirements such as; Money Laundering Regulations, Proceeds of Crime Act and Licence Conditions and Codes of Practice etc.
- Confidence in making decisions and recommendations with the ability to succinctly present these to members of the management team
- Ability to manage and prioritise own workload
- A confident and professional communication style with the ability to manage difficult conversations with customers and internal stakeholders
- Ability to work on own initiative and to challenge processes where improvements could be made
