We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join our team of Rangers based at Wirral Country Park and who manage Wirral Country Park, Heswall Dales and the Hilbre Islands as well as the beaches at Thurstaston and Caldy.
The postholder will take the lead in our Wirral Country Park schools and events programme, taking bookings and leading group visits, but will also assist in delivering an excellent service at Heswall Dales and the Hilbre Islands, undertaking maintenance tasks, supervising contractors and working alongside volunteers including friends of parks groups, Wirral Way residents work parties and Duke of Edinburgh and Work Experience students.
The successful candidate will be proficient in using Microsoft Outlook, taking and sending emails and use of the Outlook Calendar to record school and event bookings. The postholder will be provided with a workstation in the Wirral Country Park Visitor Centre Rangers Office and will be responsible for daily (Monday to Friday) building checks as well as liaising with Café Staff, contracted cleaning staff and visitors. The post holder will maintain a database of visiting schools and liaise with the Wirral Parks and Countryside Events and Lettings Officer to ensure correct invoicing and income generation.
A current driving licence is essential to drive fleet vehicles between sites and to operate ride-on machinery. The postholder will be required to wear a uniform and be responsible for a Council issued laptop and smartphone and to follow all Health and Safety requirements of the post including training and adhering to the Council's policies.
