Animal Care Assistant
Love animals? Love the outdoors? We are one of the largest kennels and cattery in the South East of England with a well established history dating back to 1960. We work closely with vets, local authorities, charities as well as welcoming individual family pets.
We board a range of animals of all sizes from hamsters and parrots to St Bernard’s.
Joes folly is situated on the idyllic location of Taplow lake in south Buckinghamshire with large grounds and dedicated space for animal exercise and separated areas for dog, cat and other animal care.
We are looking for dedicated animal lovers to join our small family run team as Animal Care Assistants. This is a very rewarding and varied role and we have both full-time and part-time positions available.
Full Job Description
- Daily animal care including cleaning of space, feeding and exercising
- Welcoming new animals into their environment and preparing their space for arrival
- Animal grooming and washing when required
- General housekeeping duties
- Record keeping and administration
To be considered for this position candidates should be:
- Passionate about animals
- Committed to caring for animals even if it’s raining cats and dogs :)
- Able to start Work at 8am (animals don’t wait for us!)
- Organised enough to make sure that all animals are well looked after even during busy periods
- Able to follow strict animal care procedures
- Self starter as well as a Team player
- Be willing to weekends, bank holidays and during school holidays on rota. our business is seasonal and work days will be subject to the time of year
Requirement
- Animal care diploma and/or experience
- Experience in commercial boarding establishments preferred
- Experience and confidence at handling dogs, cats and small animals
