Animal Behaviour Technician
Holly House Vets has an exciting opportunity to be involved in the further development of behaviour work within our busy first opinion and referral vet practice.
The position is flexible depending on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate and we would be particularly interested in hearing from any of the below:
- Qualified Trainers (e.g. KCAI or APDT or IMDT)
- Anyone having completed an ABTC recognised Level 5 or 6 academic qualification in Behaviour / APBC provisional ABT / CAB
- Vet Nurses with a proven interest / qualification in behaviour and training
You will work alongside our Clinical Animal Behaviourist and further training will be given to enable you to work towards becoming an ABTC Animal Behaviour Technician or Clinical
Animal Behaviourist. Work is predominately with dogs but experience with cats would be advantageous.
Your role will include:
- Working with dogs (and cats) in practice to reduce stress and helping promote a Fear Free approach with clinical staff and clients
- Preventative Behaviour work including Puppy Classes, Puppy Home Visits, Client Education Talks and Events and running Dog Training classes and individual training sessions.
- Behaviour work supporting clients implement their Behaviour Modification Plan as devised by the CAB
- Assisting with admin associated with behaviour consults such as enquiries, reports and record keeping. Establishing a social media presence to promote an active Dog Group within the community.
Hours will be flexible but will include regular weekend work. This is a full time post but part time / job share may be considered.
Pay is £19,760 - £25,000 dependent on qualifications, experience and training needs.
