We are looking for a talented Analyst for the YouGov Sport media team who brings strong analytical skills, balanced with robust project management and first-class communication skills.
YouGov Sport provides a wide range of insight services on a global basis to the Sports industry. Drawing on the power of YouGov data and tools as well as a range of world-class media monitoring resources.
What will I be doing day to day?
- Project management: to co-ordinate and manage projects of varying complexity either independently or as part of a team.
- Create searches and use bespoke media information tools to find relevant data. Collect, collate, extract and interrogate the resultant data.
- Perform advanced media valuation analysis and calculations in Microsoft Excel, using functions such as pivot tables, vlookup and data filters.
- Data analysis: looking into trends and identifying potential discrepancies and errors. Extrapolating and estimating data using robust samples, data models and logic
- Report production: producing bespoke analysis and reports for clients; creating a clear narrative from the data that enables the client to make data-driven decisions.
- Proofreading analyst’s reports and suggesting pertinent improvements to the written insight and presentation of data.
- To keep up-to-date with new data insights techniques and models, including how these can be translated and embedded into the business, whilst always looking to improve current techniques and models.
- To become the subject matter expert, being able to share knowledge with the team and with clients where applicable.
- To provide support to the Client Services team on ad-hoc projects.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to approach and solve problems.
- Proven track record of managing multiple projects and hitting deadlines in a fast-moving environment.
- Enthusiasm for day-to-day writing of evaluation reports and data analysis across a broad range of media.
- Experience in the media evaluation sector (in particular sports media) is desirable.
- Microsoft Office experience essential, including Excel to a high standard (i.e. vlookups, IF formulae, pivot tables and data filters).
- Possess a good, clear writing style and understand different uses of tables, charts and commentary.
- Effective communication to senior management level.
- Experience with data models to complete logical data extrapolation, estimation and/or regression analysis
- A strong interest in sailing, tennis, motorsport and/or football would be beneficial
