We are currently hiring for an Analyst – Infrastructure Finance to join our Real Assets Finance team.
Real Assets Finance (RAF) provides a full suite of services to corporates, financial sponsors, financial institutions and governments in a number of sectors including Infrastructure, Transport, Power & Utilities, Renewables, Logistics, Real Estate and Support Services. The team provides a single point for clients to access financing, debt advisory and capital markets across EMEA.
The sub teams within RAF are:
- Export and Asset Finance
- Infrastructure Finance
- Real Estate Finance
- Sustainability Linked Loans
The Analyst would join the London pool, providing support across the RAF business.
- Creating marketing materials: Including pitch books, information memorandums / teaser documents and responses to requests for proposals
- Financial modelling and analysis: Development of financial models to assess potential transactions, perform analysis and present to clients
- Support in execution of mandated transactions: Support the team in reviewing due diligence materials, documentation, preparing loan returns analysis and credit memos
- Sector and product research: Develop deep understanding of applicable sectors and products through performing detailed company and industry analysis such as benchmarking, profiling credit analysis and investment highlights. The Analyst will need to keep abreast of latest happenings in the sectors tracked, prepare performance summaries and participate to idea generation
- Understands HSBC group strategy: Understand HSBC strategy as a global universal bank and its client centric approach. This will include knowledge of how the business is structured and organized, engage effectively with colleagues across businesses and products and work collaboratively in a global context
- Ability to multi-task: Proactively discuss with project teams, prioritise and schedule time effectively
Desired skills and experience
- Experience in one or more RAF products (debt advisory, project and export finance, acquisition finance, real estate finance and/or capital markets) gained at an investment bank, boutique advisory or big four institution
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and market data services (e.g. Bloomberg, FactSet, Factiva, Datastream, etc.)
- Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills with a proficiency in financial modelling including operational model, accounting, debt facilities, credit metrics and valuation analysis. VBA or other programming experience preferred
- Have an understanding of core credit analysis including financial covenants, rating agency methodologies and credit metrics. Understand and ability to model valuation metrics including IRR, FCFE, DCF and Comparables
- A strong understanding of the financial markets, including an understanding of HSBC Group and products
- High levels of motivation and strong work ethic, underpinned by an interest and passion for the sector
- Strong organisational and project management skills, with ability to multitask
