MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
This opportunity presents a significant learning and development experience in a fast-paced working environment for the right candidate. As a member of a small team there is much scope to bring ideas, add value and learn different parts of running a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.
The role is instrumental in delivering on our commitments to our communities across the region.
With multiple societal factors affecting education, employment and the confidence of young people, it’s an important time to support the next generation. Our CSR initiatives in this area are more important than ever. You will be working closely with the charity partners to deliver engaging programmes to advance the young people’s employability, financial literacy and other life skills for the personal growth and sustainable employment.
The CSR strategy focuses on supporting wider disadvantaged groups in communities in the region under the Local Cause pillar. This pillar provides more flexibility for local teams to support relevant causes such as the inequalities highlighted by the pandemic for example food poverty homelessness and loneliness. This provides a variety of initiatives that you can be supporting part of the role.
The environment pillar is becoming more significant part of the wider growing importance of ESG and our sustainable efforts at MUFG. The focus is to empower our employees to create and maintain a sustainable environment at MUFG and across the communities in which we operate. Working closely with the Green Team, this represents a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to bring in new ideas and shape our efforts going forward.
The right candidate will also work very closely with passionate CSR champions in EMEA to support them with advancing in their CSR journey locally.
The CSR team sits within Global Human Resources and is responsible for delivering the programme across Europe, Middle-East and Africa.
Reporting into the Head of CSR, the right candidate will support them in the progression and the delivery of the EMEA CSR strategy within the wider ESG scope at MUFG, operational delivery by engaging employees and working closely with charity partners. They will also be responsible for the supervision of budget admin and data collection.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Volunteer and fundraising event management and oversight
  • Work closely with our charity partners to coordinate, lead and deliver volunteering and fundraising opportunities including big campaigns (
    Fitprints for Good
    )
  • Work closely with the CSR champions internally to support volunteer recruitment and the delivery of different CSR events across EMEA
CSR Communications
  • Keeping the CSR page up-to-date on the intranet
  • Support with delivering EMEA level CSR communications through full use of communication tools to promote CSR events, develop case studies and regional successes
  • Support the development of the EMEA CSR Report project
  • Opportunity to present at different team/ Committee and departmental meetings to raise awareness of the programme
Project Management
  • Manage the Mentoring programme– recruitment, mentor training, dbs checks and check-ins throughout the year
  • Support in the delivery of projects such as annual Fitprints for Good fundraiser and the regional Volunteering Month initiative
  • Support and take lead as directed to facilitate project meetings and workshops
Reporting
  • Responsible for managing internal UK CSR database including functionality development, data entry and reporting.
  • Oversee all collation of CSR data, producing regular reports for CSR Committee and champions meetings.
Internal Stakeholder management:
  • Assist in the management of internal CSR champions team in London and across EMEA, including regular meetings, annual capacity building workshops, ongoing communications and development of materials.
  • Develop close working relationships with a variety of internal teams including and not limited to HR, I&D, Facilities and Legal.
  • Build internal networks through attending forums, presentations and meetings.
Other:
  • Process matched fundraising requests from employees.
  • Conduct due diligence in line with compliance and risk standards
  • Support with tracking invoices and overall EMEA wide budget requests
  • Provide key support to Head of CSR on strategy development, stakeholder engagement and operational delivery
  • Involvement in wider CSR forums and projects as required.
  • Represent CSR at internal and external events. Deliver CSR presentations and updates as required.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Essential:
  • Demonstrable relevant experience in CSR / community programmes.
  • Experience in supporting the delivery of impactful programme
  • Previous experience in working in a fast-paced/ Corporate environment
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Functional / Technical Competencies:
Essential
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Event management of CSR workshops and other related events from concept to delivery
  • Good planning, prioritising and organisational skills are essential
  • Strong interest in the relationship between business and society
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills with the ability to build relationships effectively
  • Cultural sensitivity – respect for processes and cultural nuances
Education / Qualifications:
  • Educated to degree (Bachelors / HND) level, preferably in business studies, sustainable business or relating fields.
PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be flexible and willing to work outside core business hours as required, such as for the purposes of CSR events and initiatives.
  • Must possess a willing ‘can do’ approach to work, self-starter, enthusiastic and personable
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate in a team
  • The ability to manage multiple responsibilities and tight deadlines
  • Results driven, with a strong sense of accountability
  • The ability to operate with urgency and prioritise work accordingly

  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills. Proficiency in MS word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel.
