About this role
Job Purpose:
The Official Institutions Group is seeking a second year analyst/ASO level professional to support with official institution clients across the EMEA region. The professional will be responsible for partnering with our Relationship Managers and internal partner teams (including portfolio managers, investment product strategists, marketing, and others) to effectively serve our official institution clients. This includes developing and maintaining relationships with clients, and helping to facilitate new business.
The successful candidate will work with Relationship Managers, helping to develop our existing and new book of business. The role will require the candidate to own client service deliverables and facilitate sales enablement by supporting the broader sales efforts of the team in meeting their business objectives. The role will bring the individual into regular contact with stakeholders across the BlackRock platform with close interactions across all business functions expected. This will enable the candidate to build skills across asset classes and solutions.
As a member of the team, this professional will also be working with OIG – s senior management on the group – s strategic initiatives, client strategy and high profile forums sponsored by OIG.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Participate as a key member of dedicated client teams serving Official Institutions in EMEA.
- Contribute to the sales process by supporting the broader sales function with activities including account opening incl AML/KYC client query management, client reporting, record keeping and ongoing regulatory obligations
- Support Relationship Managers with all on-going service, communication, and sales efforts with clients and prospects of the firm. Cultivate strong relationships with clients, becoming the "go-to" point of contact.
- Interface with portfolio managers, investment product specialists, compliance officers, consultant relations colleagues, operations and portfolio administration personnel in order to organize client meetings and coordinate presentation materials.
- Use BlackRock's proprietary systems to gather security, capital market, and economic data to create a range of presentation materials including portfolio review books, board presentations, and marketing materials.
- Gather critical data to quickly respond orally and in writing to clients – requests for information.
- Write and publish client meeting summary notes posted to the firm-wide client relationship management (CRM) system.
- Maintaining CRM systems, sales pipeline and ensuring best practice record management across the sales function
- Assist with new client on-boardings, supporting clients throughout the process of opening new investment accounts with BlackRock.
- Develop asset class fluency across BlackRock's product range, including fixed income, ETFs, equity, and alternatives
- Supporting the sales team with client material preparation
- Work with the team to prepare for senior level meetings and high profile events including the IMF.
Knowledge / Experience Desired:
Skills / Qualifications
- Academic background in Finance or Economics required
- Strong interest in financial markets, official institutions (e.g., central banks) and the asset management industry
- Minimum 2-year experience in institutional sales or investments (internships may count toward this requirement)
- Strong quantitative skills
- Good presentation and written communication skills
- Strong command of Excel, Power Point, Bloomberg, and other tools
- Strong work ethics and organisation skills
- Interpersonal skills to help foster an inclusive culture of teamwork and knowledge sharing
- Multilingual is a plus
