We are looking for an American or European Diplomate in Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia to join our team, that currently consists of 3 ECVAA diplomates, 1 residency trained clinicians, 1 resident – alternative track, 1 anaesthesia intern and 4 anaesthesia nurses. We are also continuing to expand the anaesthesia nursing team.

Southfields is a large multi-disciplinary veterinary hospital in Essex, UK, with a diverse specialist team, including surgery, ophthalmology, internal medicine, cardiology, dentistry, dermatology, diagnostic imaging, exotics, neurology, oncology and radiation oncology, with discipline specific residents training within the hospital.
Southfields has state-of-the art facilities, including innovative cancer treatment facilities, full diagnostic suites including fluoroscopy for interventional procedures, ICU, modern anaesthesia workstations with advanced haemodynamic and ventilation monitoring, a dedicated ultrasound portable machine for locoregional anaesthesia and neuromuscular activity monitoring.
Your role and responsibilities
You will be committed to developing the hospital and providing high standards of care to both our patients and referring veterinary surgeons. You must be able to work as part of a team as well as independently, supporting other clinical teams and patients in our busy hospital.
Key roles include:
- Work with the team to further grow and develop the anaesthesia and analgesia department at Southfields.
- Work collaboratively with all other services and foster good relationships
- Undertake supervision of nurses and anaesthesia and other disciplines residents
- Demonstrate professional standards that will advance patient care
- Be an ambassador for the team

Specific experiences / qualifications / status / citizenship requirements
You must fulfil the following requirements:
- Membership of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (or eligible to become a member)
- Successful completion of a recognised ACVAA or ECVAA residency
- Strong communication skills and professional approach
- Have an excellent command of written and spoken English
- Maintain a professional and caring approach in all aspects of your work
- Provide evidence of your Right to Work in the UK.
