Cromwell Hospital , SW5 0TU (5 mins walk from Earls Court underground or 7 mins walk from Gloucester Road underground .)

£26.52 per hour Monday - Friday day
£32.12 per hour Monday - Friday nights and Saturday days
£35.68 per hour Sunday and Bank Holiday
Role Overview
Your role as a Theatre Practitioner Anaesthetics is to be responsible for providing skilled clinical and technical assistance as a member of the operating theatre team, and to participate in the assessment of patient care needs and implement and maintain agreed standards of care.
Our main adult theatre is a busy and dynamic environment, setting the benchmark for clinical excellence. We have 5 operating suites catering for Cardiac, Orthopaedics, ENT and Ophthalmic, Plastics, General/Vascular, Urology and Gynaecology. We work with surgeons who are the best in their specialities carrying out simple to the more complex surgeries.
What you’ll do:
Provide assistance to the consultants during all surgical procedures whether under local/regional/sedation/general anaesthetic.
Assist in the positioning and preparation of a patient as directed by the surgical team and ensure that any specimens are correctly labelled and dispatched to the laboratory.
Prepare patients for clinical / operative procedures and provide immediate post-operative care.
Participate in the delegation and supervision of junior grades, unqualified and less experienced staff.
Work with members of the Multi-Disciplinary Team following local protocols and standards.
Create and maintain legible and accurate records of care in accordance with Bupa and the Cromwell Hospitals’ local policies and procedures.
Participate fully as a team member, including working in all areas of the theatre suite, sharing knowledge and information and supporting colleagues, to promote a cohesive team and the achievement of team objectives.
What we’re looking for:
Qualification of RN – 1ST level Registration Adult and/or Children or a Diploma or Degree in Health Care Studies / ODP Level 3 NVQ / ODA 752.
Ability to prioritise work/people.
Enthusiasm to learn.
Supportive, approachable and flexible.
