As an Investigation Associate you will be working in our Investigation team, which is responsible for detecting and preventing money laundering and terrorist financing. In this role you will receive training to develop your knowledge of anti money laundering and counter terrorist financing typologies and investigative practices. Successful candidates will have a desire to start a career in financial crime prevention and benefit from personal and professional development opportunities while working on activities that help Starling Bank in the fight against financial crime.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting investigations in response to a variety of trigger events that include transaction monitoring alerts.
- Conducting objective, fair, thorough, and timely reviews into unusual activity that comply with internal policy and relevant legislation and regulation.
- Communicating with customers to establish circumstances in order to make a fair, logical decision.
- Maintaining accurate records.
- Supporting organisation of workflow.
- Escalating cases with high risk factors or financial crime trends identified to management
- Being willing to learn through awareness and training opportunities that will be mostly management-led.
- Supporting the growth of Starling by being proactive, raising risks, speaking up and providing solutions to digitise, automate and improve processes.
- Any other reasonable management request.
- Experience working in the financial services sector or financial crime prevention.
- Awareness of financial service firms obligations in respect of financial crime prevention.
- Desire to start a career in financial crime prevention.
- Quick learner with ability to work in a fast paced environment.
- Confident and able to make decisions.
- Good communicator.
- Enjoying working in a team environment.
