Algorithm Engineer (Fibre Optical Technology)
Introduction
We are seeking a highly skilled Algorithm Engineer to join our team working on cutting edge fibre optical technology. The successful candidate will use analytical and/or statistical methods to develop novel solutions for data analysis.
This technology is used in various real-world applications such as industrial monitoring and control in the energy and oil and gas industries, infrastructure monitoring, and many more exciting areas.
Key Responsibilities
· Develop and implement advanced algorithms using analytical and/or statistical methods to analyse data from fibre optical measurements following the software development lifecycle
· Professional algorithm development to create products ready to be used for safety-critical applications
· Collaborate with other engineers and scientists to design and implement new measurement systems
· Conduct research and development to improve existing algorithms and measurement systems
· Prepare technical reports and presentations to communicate research findings to internal and external stakeholders
· Stay current with the latest developments in fibre optical technology and data analysis techniques
Qualifications
· A Master's or PhD degree in Physics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field
· Strong analytical skills and experience with data analysis
· Experience with programming languages such as Python or Matlab
· Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively
· Knowledge of Java and/or C++ is considered as a plus
· Experience with software development lifecycle
· Experience with machine learning and artificial intelligence is a plus

Pay: £50,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
