Job Description
Alexander McQueen are currently in search of a Senior Design Studio Coordinator to join our busy Central London Design Studio.
As Senior Design Studio Coordinator you will be responsible for the daily transmission of information between the Studio, Production, Press and Facilities teams whilst supporting the Design teams and Creative Director across various projects. You will lead the Studio & Design coordinators to ensure a professional and smooth running of the department.
How you will contribute?
Design Coordination
  • Daily assistance to the creative director and senior design team.
  • Assist the design team organising design packs, research, and sketches by category
  • Manage Archive requests and returns.
  • Responsible for labelling, tracking, and organizing rails and boxes for all collection prototypes from current and past collections.
  • Responsible for updating and maintaining studio digital database: digital server, archive folders and hard drives, digital camera.
  • Update overview tools (digital recaps and collection boards).
  • Share collection overview with key stakeholders (creative director, stylist, head of departments).
  • Ensure all information is delivered in a timely manner and quality is up to Alexander McQueen standards.
  • Work with the Atelier to create Consumption Cards for the London pieces to be forwarded to production.
  • Supervise the handover of Collection Patterns from the London Studio/Atelier to the external suppliers, making sure they are checked, packed, and properly labelled.
Atelier
  • Booking of freelancers according to the workload
  • Supervision of the workflow
  • supervision of the space, machines and equipment needed
General Studio Management
  • Responsible for the studio space: maintain fitting tools, mannequins, boards, rails, creative room, and library in order.
  • Oversee constant refill of fitting tools (pin cushions, fitting box tools) and make sure that they are displayed and maintained correctly.
  • Catering organisation
  • Models: Schedule models for daily fittings– update designers on availability of models and propose alternatives when not available.
  • Assist during model /fit model casting.
  • Oversee model budget.
  • Maintain model photo and measurements record up to date.
Special Projects
Daily transmission of information between the studio, the external styling team and the production team.
In charge of the general organisation of Lookbooks and Ad campaigns preparation -
  • Packing and unpacking of the collection, boards and atelier machines
  • Organisation and supervision of the dedicated atelier
  • Supervision of the styling / fitting boxes and all the other required preparation elements.
  • Booking of the photographer and fitting models
  • Oversee the handover of the collection to the press office or merchandising teams
  • Liaising with the head of design and production teams for post-production photoshoot amendments.
In charge of the general organisation of Show preparation -
  • Packing and unpacking of the collection, boards, atelier machines, providing custom documents when needed and liaising with the relevant teams
  • Supervision of the transport and hotel bookings for the design and ateliers teams
  • Supervision of design/styling overview documents and boards during fittings
  • Communication of fitting schedules to the atelier
Who you are?
  • Solid understanding of design and product management processes.
  • Solid communicator with excellent strong written and verbal skills.
  • Able to handle sensitive business and personal information with professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion at all times.
  • Ability to anticipate needs, being proactive in solving problems autonomously.
  • Exceptional organizational, multi-tasking, and project management skills
  • Ability to balance workload across multiple projects and demands.
  • Have a positive attitude to work and be able to supervise and motivate a team.
  • Ability to engage with stakeholders across the company.
  • Experience in leading and managing a team
  • Travel when required for fashion show, Lookbooks and campaign.
  • Proficiency in Photoshop, InDesign & Microsoft Office, iPad.
  • Previous experience in a similar relevant role.
