Job description
The Scottish Ambulance Service is currently looking to recruit two experienced Driver/Handyperson to work within the ICT Department. The post holder’s primary function will be to move Service vehicles between various locations. They will assist with checks to be carried out on various types of in-vehicle technology as required along with the Annual Audit.
Although the post will be based primarily in Dalgety Bay, Fife, this role requires extensive travel throughout Scotland to meet the needs of the Service. As a result, there will frequently be occasions where the post holders will have to be flexible in terms of their start time, finish time during their 37.5hr working week. Flexibility is also required in terms of working away from home. These posts are permanent.
The post holders must have a full, current UK driving licence - groups C1 and D1 are desirable. Previous experience of working with In-Vehicle Technology along with Microsoft Office is desirable as is an understanding of the Airwave Radio System. Work to prepare the vehicles for works to start and finish will be required which will entail use of some specialised tools to ensure the vehicle meets the correct Vehicle Safety Standards.
