An exciting opportunity as an Airline Menu Development Executive to join the Onboarding Experience Team at British Airways. The incredible variety of the aviation environment will provide an excellent opportunity to broaden your experience and grow your culinary career within a dedicated and encouraging team.

As an Airline Menu Development Executive (Chef), you will work with caterers around the world developing menus across all the cabins to drive customer satisfaction. The menus you develop will feature signature dishes with regional flavours and provenance, whilst ensuring they meet the British Airways design styling and provide a differentiated standard.

Utilising your experience and knowledge within culinary and/ or catering hospitality, you will be accountable for the development and catering design standards for the network, to ensure the meal profiles and options meet the route requirements.

You will play a key part in driving ancillary revenue through the execution and delivery of the Pre-Order proposition in line with the vision and roadmap, using your commercial and financial acumen to deliver on budgeted targets.

Duties will include –

  • Defining of the culinary design pillars and also focus on sustainable solutions, where applicable
  • Liaising closely with Catering Operations and Inflight Customer Experience teams to ensure robust testing and trials and risk assessments have been conducted prior to execution of changes.
  • Responsible for the internal and external communication plan, to ensure that hospitality signatures and standards are with key stakeholders prior to implementation.
  • Providing industry benchmarking with high-end restaurants, hotels, travel companies and other airlines and builds strategic relationships as required

The successful postholder will have experience and/ or qualifications within either a 5 Star hotel, high quality restaurant or member’s club delivering culinary experience. Experience within an airline or knowledge of the lifecycle of products will be an advantage.
