Job Title: Aircraft Mechanic
Full Time Permanent - PAYE
Location: Chevron Aircraft Maintenance, Prestwick – Ayrshire
shift: 5/4/4
As a Mechanic you will be reporting to and working with the leading mechanic and certifier on the zone/aircraft as allocated.
Your Responsibilities will be:
· Maintain the highest airworthiness, quality, safety and performance standards and ensure all company and legal requirements appertaining to aircraft maintenance and inspection are complied with
Being able to perform all maintenance tasks including but not limited to;
- Read and interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine the feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components
- Assemble and install electrical, plumbing, mechanical, hydraulic, and structural components and accessories, using hand tools and power tools
- Replace and replenish aircraft fluids, including fuel, oils and lubricants
- Prepare and paint aircraft surfaces
- Remove or install aircraft components
- Maintain, repair, and rebuild aircraft structures, functional components, and parts such as wings and fuselage, rigging, hydraulic units, oxygen systems, fuel systems, electrical systems, gaskets, and seals
- Communicate with other workers to coordinate fitting and alignment of heavy parts, or to facilitate processing of repair parts
- Any other duties as reasonable requested by lead mechanics / licenced aircraft engineer
- Ensure correct use and accuracy of the MRO system is maintained with regards to all maintenance activities.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
- Ad hoc project work as required within the scope of the role
Admin Duties:
- Maintain repair logs, documenting all preventive and corrective aircraft maintenance
- Requisition / order consumables, parts, materials, and equipment used
- Ensure all paperwork is completed to the required standards and in line with the company MOE, ensure all paperwork is completed to the required standards and in line with the company MOE
- Maintain an up-to-date aircraft maintenance logbook to demonstrate level of experience andcompetence gained through the completion of a variety of tasks
Maintain compliance with:
- COSHH regulations
- Health and safety guidelines per product SDS (safety data sheets)/ CAM risk assessments
- Part 145 requirements - signing aircraft paperwork for all tasks performed including, time and date tasks performed, materials used (quantity & part number)
- Company MOE requirements, Company procedures and information bulletins
- Regulatory requirements and any associated changes in relation to EASA Part 145, Part M and Part 66.
- Hold and maintain a valid Company Aircraft Mechanic authorisation
Additional Requirements:
- A recognised apprenticeship within the aircraft industry or similar.
- Have extensive knowledge of Base Maintenance activities with hands on working experience
- Understanding of Health & Safety, Human Factors and Compliance requirements
- Understanding of regulatory requirements in relation to Part 145
- Good standard of written/ spoken English including the ability to interact at a technical level
- Good Computer literacy with experience and knowledge of Microsoft Word, excel etc.
You must have the right to work in the UK – Proof will be required at the scheduling interview stage

Salary: £31,000.00-£42,000.00 per year
