YOUR ROLE
Our Operation in Hounslow, London is looking for a dynamic and customer-focused Air Import Customer Service Co-Ordinator to join our growing team.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
Reporting into the Air Import Manager, you will have first-hand knowledge of how an import airfreight department works. You will act as the key contact for customers and managers supporting with operational processes including obtaining Customs clearance instructions, confirming delivery/vehicle requirements, and ensuring all information such as quotes are in place for shipment billing, queries, customer requests, and complaints, whilst providing swift remedial actions, collecting VAT and duty payments. There will also be a need to take the lead in presentations and reporting on internal and external conferencing calls.
In addition to your Import knowledge, you will use your exceptional customer service and communication skills to build and develop relationships with your customers. You will proactively monitor shipment progress ensuring the customers are kept informed at every milestone of the process and any delays or issues are communicated in a timely manner.
Alongside your day-to-day role you may also be required to work alongside spot quotations team. Passing on leads to sales teams to generate further business if a need is noticed with the current customer database.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
To be considered for this role you will need demonstrable experience working within an import-based freight forwarding role. While a dedicated Customs Team will complete any Customs clearances, an understanding of the workings of Import Customs Entries is essential (for example knowledge of CDS, IPR, Temporary imports, Home Use, CVED Carnets, etc). Experience with Cargowise or Salesforce systems would be an advantage but not compulsory to be a successful applicant.
You will need to be able to communicate effectively via phone and video conferencing calls. You will also show good literacy and competent grammar when composing emails. You will be comfortable delivering information relating to shipment delays or issues and hands-on in investigating the root causes of such occurrences.
You will need to be a highly organised team worker that shows initiative and be able to work in a fast-paced environment whilst adhering to tight timescales and be able to think on your feet and problem-solve to provide workable solutions to customers.
This is a Monday – Friday position starting at 9am and finishing at 6pm with an hour’s lunch break. There will be occasional overtime expected at weekends and evenings. Any requested overtime will be paid in addition to your salary.
