At GSK, we are actively working on building a future in which Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) enable us to develop new therapies and personalised drugs that drive better outcomes for patients at reduced cost with fewer side effects. It is an ambitious goal that requires the research and development of solutions at the cutting edge of AI/ML applied to biomedical research.
We're looking for a Junior Full-stack engineer to join our Applied AI - Visualisation team. Our team works at the intersection of AI/ML and biomedical science and is responsible for building user-facing applications that GSK scientists use in their day-to-day work to accelerate drug discovery. We're a team of data visualisation designers and engineers within the Applied AI group, have already made a significant impact, and are seeking an ambitious data visualisation practitioner to join the team.
Help design and implement web-based prototypes and applications that our scientists use day-to-day to discover new drugs through AI/ML insights. No need to reinvent the wheel if there is a solution available, but often we need to customise the data visualisation to address the unmet needs and deliver excellent user experience.
Help design the solutions that improve AI/ML insights and methodologies for data scientists.
Work with our cross-functional team (data scientists, data engineers and research scientists) to define and deliver features in an iterative manner.
Write maintainable and testable front and back-end code.
Help our team continuously improve our tech stack and processes by actively participating in our innovation days and retrospectives.
Why you?

- PhD in Data Science, Data Visualization, Computer Science, Computation Biology or similar
- Experience with developing web-based data visualization solutions for biomedical domain
- Experience working in biomedical research or pharmaceutical industry
