Agriculture and Compliance Supervisor

Hybrid Working

Outbased: Plymouth

The position of Agriculture and Compliance Supervisor involves:

  • Travel to undertake field and stockpile assessments.
  • Liaising with farmers to evaluate soil conditions and best application techniques. Taking into account Nitrate Vulnerable Zone and Source Protection 1 zones.
  • Liaise with transport team to plan Bio Solid deliveries and trackway placements.
  • Maintain farm files to establish picture of farm history regarding fertiliser applications, soil sampling and store locations.
  • Advising farmers on compliance with current legislation and use of governmental or EU schemes.
  • Developing and maintaining a set central list of farmer and contractor contact details.
  • Keeping abreast of agricultural legislation, government and environmental regulations and guidelines to ensure compliance.
  • Based regionally to liaise with key agricultural stakeholders and landowners in regards to transport, tipping, storage and spreading activities.
  • Assist farmers and contractors with the preparation of key documentation.
  • Liaise and maintain good working relationships with local Environment Agency Officers.
  • Report on product quality.
  • Identifying new farm customers and recycling sites suitable for available product.
  • Visiting farms to establish working relationship with farmers and contractors.
  • Assisting in supervising daily recycling operations.
  • Soil sampling to BAS guidance.
  • Preparing and completing risk identification mapping.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of new procedures and policies.
  • Adhere to company and contractual obligations regarding stockpile inspections and completing all required paperwork.
  • Report weekly on progress made with new farms and keep a log of available delivery outlets.
  • Deal with enquiries and complaints from members of the public both in person and by phone or email where possible.
  • Adherence to all Health & Safety, Environmental and Business Management policies and procedures.

Essential skills required for Agriculture and Compliance Supervisor:

  • Knowledge of waste regulations, Bio Solids assurance scheme, safe sludge matrix and Environment Agency and Water authority regulations.
  • Risk Management training.
  • Formal sampling training.
  • Experience dealing with local Environment Agency Officers.
  • Relevant experience of waste recycling to agricultural land.
  • Experience of land spreading techniques and equipment.
  • IT Literate including MS Office.
  • Able to provide strong communication to customers.

Desirable skills required for Agriculture and Compliance Supervisor:

  • FACTS qualified.
