Due to expansion of our agricultural portfolio, we are excited to be expanding our agricultural team. this is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to work alongside our existing agricultural team, overseen by our Directors, to provide support in a wide range of tasks across our rural estates and agricultural portfolio.
We are a well-established, family-owned, property investment company with diverse interests. We have an extensive portfolio of let farms and land in Derbyshire, Yorkshire, Cumbria, Scotland and Northern Ireland, as well as a wide range of rural projects including energy renewables and forestry.
In this role you would be working within our agricultural department managing our farmland and estates including farm tenancies, licences, stewardship and legal perspectives.
Duties may include:
- Managing a range of agricultural tenancies, including Farm Business Tenancies, Agricultural Holdings Act Tenancies, Grazing Licences, Wayleaves and Sporting Agreements
- Visiting our holdings and liaising with agricultural tenants, which will sometimes involve negotiations, organising farm visits/inspections, and keeping up-to-date on matters arising on each holding
- Liaising with other professionals on rural matters
- Administering the BPS and stewardship schemes which exist on the holdings, including accurate record keeping, and applying for new grants as applicable
- Ensuring compliance with the conditions of schemes and tenancies through effective relationships with tenants and contractors
- Viewing and valuing land for sale and provide administrative support in the purchase of new holdings
- Assisting with the letting of our various holdings
- Keeping up-to-date on changes within the agricultural world and applying them to the rural portfolio
Any previous experience in agriculture would be an advantage, but a self-starting individual with an interest in agriculture who is keen to learn and has excellent administration skills would also succeed in this role.
The ideal candidate will be:
- A self-starting individual with strong administration skills.
- An excellent communicator, and comfortable with liaising with a wide range of people
- Someone with sound commercial understanding of estate management, or willing and able to learn the same
- Able to prioritise their workload and work to deadlines and diaries
- A committed team player
- Able to travel on occasional overnight trips across the portfolio (including Northern Ireland and Scotland)

Hours: 42 hours per week split between office and field-based hours
Salary: competitive, dependent on relevant experience and qualification
