About us

Our UK Graduate Programmes provide exceptional graduates the opportunity to be part of the future of aviation. Over the 2/3 year period it combines rotational placements with focused training and developing your network and skills within the business.

From your first day, you will join your initial area after being guided through the various placement opportunities that exist within your function, the wider business and customers and suppliers. Your Graduate network and Generation-Airbus colleagues will share experiences, offer support, create social bonds and form a real platform for development, fun and career progression. Filton Plant’s Manufacturing Engineering is at the heart of all tasks, working with all functions, realising the design intent into production means, whether that is production support, developing new technologies for cost reduction/efficiency improvement or working on new product introduction. Your placements will consist of joining pioneering innovative teams covering Operations, Technical and Support Functions: working on projects such as A400M, A350, Metallic Additive Manufacturing (3D printing) and research & technology. If you enjoy taking on a challenge without predefined solutions, taking full accountability of the delivery of projects and learning as part of the process, whilst being at the forefront of aerospace manufacturing then this role could be for you. We cover a wide range of subjects, from strategy, production support, project management, programming, manufacturing methods & technologies, digitization, Lean and production planning, giving a wide spectrum of opportunity across a variety of wing related subjects. We are looking at developing key technical skills in the team, by expanding on your deep knowledge developed within academia into our industry.

What will you be doing

You will be on a development pathway to prepare you to be a Manufacturing Engineer and can expect to be involved in the following:

  • You will gain experience across the whole wing and sub assembly process whilst gaining a detailed understanding of the current manufacturing process along with developing improvement and future solutions.

  • The tasks will be varied and require you to use different skills (technical, project management, communication etc.) in order to complete them successfully.

  • You will initiate and support activities within the ME community, as well as working with Quality, Operations, Finance and many other functions.

  • Manufacturing Engineering is the crucial link with the design organisation and production, therefore you will need to build relationships with stakeholders from across multiple functions, capturing and comparing different views, keeping the customer at the heart of the solutions we produce.

We are a diverse and inclusive team and value different ways of thinking and working to achieve a technical solution.

At the end of the 2 year development programme you will be fully equipped to be a key player as a Manufacturing Engineer.

What we look for

To be a successful applicant to the Airbus Global Graduate Programme, you will need to demonstrate you have:

  • Educated to a degree level or equivalent within a relevant field of study

  • Recent graduation or first professional experience in one of the following fields: manufacturing engineering, aerospace engineering or other relevant technical field

  • Proficient verbal and written communication in our business language (English)

  • A desire to work in a collaborative team environment, focused on driving future innovation

  • The ability to be self aware and a wish to be in the driving seat of your own development

Salary: £31,000

Please note, we love your interest in working for Airbus but we do ask that you make only one application to the Airbus Global Graduate Programme.
