Next Steps Aftercare are looking for committed, enthusiastic and empathic Aftercare Supported Accommodation Team Leader to work full time 40 hours.

Our vision is to make a lasting and positive difference to young people who have been in care and are moving towards independence. We provide young people with accommodation as well as support to move them towards independent living and educational achievements.
As an Aftercare Supported Accommodation Team Leader your role involves supporting the manager, engaging, motivating, and encouraging young people placed in a shared house. Ensure outstanding support and accommodation service is delivered to young people admitted to Next Steps Aftercare.
Young people supported by Next Steps Aftercare are vulnerable and you are responsible for ensuring that the home in which you are working provides a safe, welcoming, and healthy environment to accommodate them.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the manager in the day to day running of a 4 bed 24-hour service ensuring it runs smoothly and efficiently.
- Provide high standard of written and verbal communication.
- Provide and deliver a high standard of accommodation and support package for young people.
- To work effectively with external agencies to promote and achieve best outcomes for young people in our service.
- Support young people to make difficult transition from care to living independently in the community.
- Support young people to acquire selfcare and interpersonal skills and demonstrate their ability to work towards their own tenancy.
- Work and continue therapeutic parenting using the PACE (Playfulness; Acceptance, Curiosity; and Empathy) model.
- Work in line with the Statement of Purpose.
- To participate in more individual needs and risk assessments and support reviews where required.
- To attend meetings and support young people with decisions making.
- To provide reports, information, and statistics.
- To ensure that individual Pathways are adhered to.
EXPERIENCE
Within the last 2 years, worked for at least 18 months in a position relevant to the supported accommodation of young people or the residential care of Young People.
EDUCATION
‘Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (England)’ or Children, Young People’s Workforce and must have or commence Level 5 Leadership and Management.
Profound knowledge and understanding of the following documents are essential:
· The Children Leaving Care Act 2000
· The Children’s Act 1989 Guidance and Regulations (Volume 3 Planning Transition to Adulthood for Care Leavers and includes The Care Leavers (England) Regulations 2010) and
· Health and Social Care Act 2008
Additional requirements such as:
· Pathway Planning
· LAC Reviews
· Section 20 Care Orders
· Attending Court

Salary: From £24,000.00 per year

Ability to commute/relocate:
- Brownhills, West Midlands: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Education:
- Diploma of Higher Education (preferred)
Experience:
- Children and Young People: 3 years (required)
- Leadership in residential or supported accommodation setting: 2 years (required)
- Ofsted Inspectons: 1 year (required)
Licence/Certification:
- DBS (required)
- clean driving licence (preferred)
