Due to ongoing expansion, Alten Ltd is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in Bicester within the Automotive sector. This is a fantastic chance to join a fast-growing company with strong core values of, Excellence, Accountability, Integrity and Service.

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be one of our consultants performing on one of our major engineering projects in the UK. You will also be contributing to our development and growth within the automotive industry.

As Mechanical Design Engineer your main responsibilities will be:

  • Lead the mechanical design activities
  • Develop detailed 3D and 2D CAD models and drawings
  • Conduct Failure Modes and Effects Analysis
  • Create drawings that conform to GD&T standards
  • Collaborating with other stakeholders to ensure that the designs are robust, tested and ready for manufacture

The ideal candidate will possess a passion for Engineering, with a result-oriented and proactive mind-set. The successful candidate will have the chance to work on several exciting projects throughout their career with Alten, developing their engineering knowledge as a Mechanical Design Engineer and a consultant.

Experience required:

  • At least 3 years of work experience working as a mechanical design engineer
  • Knowledge of CAD software such as Solidworks, PTC Creo and Catia
  • Knowledge of surface modelling
  • Experience producing accurate drawings with clear GD&T for manufacture

Qualifications required:

Degree in a relevant engineering discipline with demonstrable experience.

Salary: £28,000.00-£55,000.00 per year

  • Mechanical design: 3 years (preferred)
