The Opportunity
This role is based at our Helicopter Division in Yeovil, Somerset. Working with the other Transmission Technical staff and reporting directly to the Production Laboratory Manufacturing Manager, you will undertake testing for the Transmissions Business in Yeovil. Ensuring that it complies with National, International and customer standards.

What you will do
- Carbon in steel analysis, Oil sample testing for transmissions and in support of flight shed during holidays and sickness. Metallurgical testing, microscopic examination and Hardness testing
- Tape testing and visual inspection of paint and galvanic coatings
- Analysis of thread rolled samples Monitoring of aqueous washers in transmissions and R&O
- Supporting with the external suppliers special process approvals (DQP).
- Supporting suppliers with technical issues
- Liaising with various production department, Offload, Manufacturing Engineering and the Technologies laboratory to resolve technical issues.
- Production of Technical reports Answering and management of Quality Notifications for the Laboratory Raising RFVA’s and other technical documents.
What we are looking for
- You will need a HNC or above in Engineering
- You will be self-motivated and able to problem solve using your own initiative.
- You are able to work well as part of a team and arrive and solutions to problems that result in a win for all parties involved.
- You should have a minimum of HNC in Engineering or Science discipline
- Experience in an Aerospace Laboratory Testing environment is desirable.
- Knowledge of galvanic processes, paint and heat treatment is desirable and we can train you on these.
- You should have excellent organisational skills to effectively handle multiple projects and reconcile disparate requirements.
