Advocate for People with Learning Disabilities
Salary: £24,200 FTE to £24,800 FTE (qualified rate)
Hours: 18.5 hours per week
Location: Homebased working in the Sheffield area

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of our advocacy service in Sheffield. We offer flexible working hours Monday to Friday. There is no shift work and we do not work evenings or weekends. Please note, this role does not involve supporting people with their personal care.
Some of the advocacy you will be providing will be statutory (set out in the Mental Capacity Act, the Care Act and the Mental Health Act). Your role will be supporting people to express their views and wishes (or, where they cannot do this, to represent them). You will be helping people to uphold their rights and supporting people to access the information that they need to make decisions. Your role will help people to stay at the centre of decisions that are being made about their support, care and treatment.
This role will include working with of people of all ages in different settings which include care homes, hospitals and people’s own homes. You will be working with people with dementia, people with learning disabilities, autistic people, people with physical and sensory impairment, people with an acquired brain injury and those with mental health needs. Your role will be supported day to day by the operational guidance and leadership of the service managers.
