This is an exciting opportunity to join the Moody’s Analytics Structured Finance Advisory Services Team. As a member of the team, the Associate will be at the forefront of industry developments and will be exposed to ABS/RMBS financial modelling and product development to follow market trends.
The Associate will be responsible for performing configuration, customization, and documentation related work for Moody’s Analytics Issuer Solutions (“MA Issuer Solutions”) products. The role involves financial modelling, analytics, collateral stratification analysis and technology infrastructure.
The Associate will conduct research to study the complex business of securitization and will work closely with clients and MA professionals while reading offering documents and converting detailed written ‘payment priorities’ into financial models using our proprietary software applications. Providing support to existing MA Issuer Solutions clients is also part of the role.

- Collaborate with other members of the MA Issuer Solutions implementation team to implement and configure Moody’s proprietary ABS Suite Plus structured finance software products
- The Associate will be responsible for modelling of securitization structures, and payment waterfall rules across a range of securitization asset classes including auto, equipment, fleet/rental car, credit cards, consumer loans, etc. Securitization experience is beneficial
- Assist in advising clients on improving their securitization process to meet monthly and yearly securitization contractual requirements, regulatory reporting requirements and trigger compliance monitoring of their securitization programs
- Provide input on client requirements to senior team member as well as the product management team
- Develop expertise in reading securitization legal documents and identifying key structural terms
- Develop and build reports using Crystal Reports, Microsoft SSRS and Excel
- Develop business requirements, design, and execute SQL queries, and test solutions to ensure they meet client requirements
- Think "outside of the box" to detect any potential issues throughout the project
- Demonstrate aptitude or willingness to master detailed securitization analytics including asset class specific methodologies and related cashflow/bond modelling
- Interact with clients to discuss, explain and reconcile data the modelling/reporting result
- Assist clients by answering business related questions with the applications
- Assist the team on technical presentations and travel as needed to client sites for on-site visits
- Undergraduate or graduate degree with emphasis in finance, economics, engineering, accounting, math, computer science or related quantitative field
- 1-3 years of exposure to banking, credit and/or financial industry
- A background in structured finance, preferably on the issuer side (mortgages, auto loans, servicing loans, originating loans, and/or securitization of loans) is advantageous
- Strong quantitative skills and the ability to translate analysis into actionable tasks
- Spreadsheet modelling skills
- Efficient approach to problem solving
- Dedicated to customer focus
- Working knowledge of RDBMS (Relational Database Management Systems) concepts
- Knowledge of SSRS, Crystal Reports experience is a plus
- Some coding experience (for example: SQL queries, VBA, Python) is advantageous
- The ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments and manage ambiguity
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team with professionals at all levels
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines
- Relevant working experience in the following areas is a plus (minimum of 6 months experience):
- Mortgage and asset-backed securities
- Accounting Firms
- Corporate Trust
- Mortgage Banking
- Loan Servicing
- Fixed income investments
- Rating Agency
- 10% travel is required
