An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Pre-Assessment unit at The Diana princess of Wales Hospital for an advanced Healthcare Assistant to join our dedicated Pre-Assessment Nursing team.
We are seeking to recruit an advanced Healthcare Assistant who has a cheerful and friendly disposition to work full/part time. You must be enthusiastic, reliable, highly motivated with excellent communication skills and enjoy working within a busy team.
We are a passionate department all about putting patients first. We are looking for someone who feels the same to join our forward-thinking Pre-Assessment team, working across a variety of cases and supporting a wide range of specialties.
As an Advanced Healthcare Assistant in Pre-Assessment at our Hospital, you will bring relevant experience, a keen eye for detail and a flexible approach. You will demonstrate patience, focus and excellent communication skills. A real team player, you will show diligence, have IT literacy skills and passion for development and training to make a difference.
As an Advanced Healthcare Assistant in Pre-Assessment, you will:
- Put patient care first
- Carry out administrative duties such as completing pre assessment documentation and recording observation, height and weight. Calculating Must and BMI scores
- Desirably have phlebotomy skills and previous experience in performing ECGs
- Assist colleagues in pre assessing patients from multiple specialties including Orthopedics, Gynecology, ENT, General Surgery, Breast, Urology, colorectal and ophthalmology patients.
- Enjoy more time to care for patients as individuals
- Manage a wide range of activities and changing priorities
- Make sure the day-to-day operations of our various clinics run smoothly
- Working alongside the pre assessment in nurses in a 2:1 model
